The latest CBS News Poll has two numbers that show exactly how deep and wide spread malaise is in this country.
38% of all Americans say the U.S. economy is in permanent decline. (Up from 28% last October)
57% of all Americans say the economy will eventually recover. (Down from 68% last October)
