If you have been following this rant, you know we have now narrowed health care costs in the U.S. down to three major problem areas. In order of importance, they are as follows.
1) End of life care. There are simple, low cost solutions here, i.e, livings wills, DNRs, consulting with MDs. etc.
2) Chronic diseases. First and foremost, diabetes. The solutions here are fiendishly complicated since they begin with changing eating habits and life style changes, e.g., more exercise.
3) Private health care companies. Their operating margins, including executive salaries, are way out of line with any other method of providing healthcare. The solution here is also fiendishly complicated since it involves political changes by a Congress and President who receive HUGE donations from these same companies.
Now go back to Obamacare and the idiot Paul Ryan's plans and see if you can find anywhere that the three real problems of health care in the U.S. are even mentioned, let alone addressed. If you do, please let me know where.
